Travel Update: Sizzling Sands of South Beach
San Miguel de Allende, Bar Harbor, Indianapolis, New York. Done. Next up for 2012? Back to my old stomping grounds in Miami.
This month marks five and a half years since my arrival in DC and I’m still making annual trips back, there’s simply too much fun to be had. Next month I’m making the trip again to celebrate my birthday with friends, old and new. Funnily enough I find myself researching places to wine and dine like I’m a tourist! The scene changes so fast.
On the menu so far is an evening at Meat Market on Lincoln Road, a bucket of beer at The Clevelander, dinner at the new (James Beard Award semi-finalist for Best New Restaurant and Chef) Yardbird, plenty of beverages and bites at Highbar and Tudor House (located in our hotel, Dream South Beach), birthday brunch poolside at The Setai and birthday dinner at an all time fave, Prime 112.
So, clearly I’ve got the eating part taken care of. Now, where to imbibe? I know the usual suspects – Rose Bar at The Delano, Skybar at the Shore Club, The Setai or The W…but what about the BAR Bars? Or lounges (not neccesarilty clubs, don’t think I can manage that any more!)? Have you visited South Beach lately? What do you recommend?
